Bertazzon built the steel structure that supports a multi-story building serving the University of Malta. Starting with an architectural drawing from a prestigious local firm, Bertazzon engineered all the nodes and beam joints in order to make possible what the Client had envisioned.
The most demanding challenge involved the positioning of the sloping columns since, although from a structural point of view they had to in groups of 3 / 4 converge at a single point, from an architectural point of view the columns had to have a seemingly random orientation. All this involved reversing normal assembly canons, that is, assembling the deck first and then the columns supporting it.
