Design and Build of an industrial mezzanine for use as a warehouse and showroom

Bertazzon was contracted directly by Alpinestars S.p.A. for the design, fabrication and installation of a 2,200 sq. m. mezzanine. The structure should have a payload capacity of 1,000 kg/sqm and at the same time as few columns as possible in order to leave the ground floor production area free. The goal was achieved by modeling the mezzanine floor in finite elements, which resulted in a solution consisting of concrete casting on collaborating trapezoidal sheeting and rungs on the secondary beams.
It was also decided to have the columns work with a ground joint to eliminate the presence of bracing, increasing even more the freedom and flexibility of use of the ground floor. In addition to the mezzanine, the project involved accessories, parapet formed by a mixed structure of painted steel and stainless steel mesh, and No. 4 access stairs designed in compliance with fire regulations.
