Bicycle Walkways

As part of the "Ven.To" national cycle path project (Venice – Turin), two 50-meter-span cycle/pedestrian bridges are under construction in Adria and Porto Viro (RO) to cross two artificial canals. The location of the two structures within the Po Delta Park required particular attention to environmental integration and minimizing visual impact.
These requirements, combined with structural considerations, led to the decision to construct the two decks with a spatial lattice structure, with all profiles having a tubular cross-section and the distinctive feature of being made of Corten steel without any further surface treatments.

Both bridges are complemented by a parapet system of thin stainless steel ropes to maximize their transparency.
Bertazzon is the main contractor for this project on behalf of Veneto Strade Spa and will also be directly involved in the construction of the special foundations, earthworks and concrete works.
